Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to enhance its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have started manufacturing, with 11 more preparing to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Conditions

The drones utilize a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. The system underwent testing in combat and proved effective “at night, under jamming and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Latest Attack on the Capital Described as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “deliberate, calculated and brutal” after six individuals were killed and dozens wounded in a series of night-time strikes across Kyiv. Alert systems activated in Kyiv shortly after midnight on Friday, with Shahed drones soon detected overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

Russia’s second-largest energy company Lukoil said this past Friday it is negotiating with potential buyers regarding its international holdings following recent sanctions from Western nations and the collapse of an agreement with commodity trader Gunvor. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed once the final agreements are completed and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” the company stated.

Zelenskyy Schedules Visit to Spain

Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the Spanish capital, Madrid, on Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his trip to France, the chamber of deputies disclosed. The Ukrainian president will convene with deputies from both chambers of parliament throughout his stay, the Spanish statement said.
