Trump Invites Loved Ones of Injured Guard Soldiers to the White House

President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the White House.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Devastating Event

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Vigils across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump addressed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Community Reaction

Community members assembled over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in the capital.

Honoring the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that teachers desired. She carried herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Measures and Government Changes

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy caused the administration to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop granting visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, according to the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor the governor mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
