Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
